Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve

Arrive in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania’s gateway to the southern circuit. After breakfast, depart for Selous Game Reserve (now Nyerere National Park), one of Tanzania’s largest and most biodiverse reserves. The drive takes approximately 5-6 hours, offering scenic views of the Tanzanian countryside. Upon arrival, enjoy an afternoon game drive, where you will encounter elephants, lions, giraffes, and various bird species. Selous' remote location provides a peaceful and intimate safari experience. End the day at your lodge with dinner, while taking in spectacular views over the Rufiji River.

Day 2: Full Day in Selous Game Reserve

Start your day early with a game drive in Selous Game Reserve. The morning hours offer the best opportunity to spot wildlife, including African wild dogs, lions, elephants, and hippos. After lunch, enjoy a boat safari along the Rufiji River, where you can observe crocodiles, hippos, and various bird species. In the afternoon, opt for a walking safari led by an expert guide, offering a deeper understanding of the reserve’s flora and fauna. Day 3: Selous to Ruaha National Park

The park’s remote location provides a more exclusive safari experience. After a thrilling game drive, head to your lodge nestled in the heart of the park, where you’ll enjoy dinner and overnight accommodation surrounded by nature.

Day 4: Full Day in Ruaha National Park

Spend the day exploring Ruaha National Park, starting with an early morning game drive to maximize your chances of spotting predators like lions, cheetahs, and leopards. The park’s flat terrain allows for excellent visibility, and its open plains make it perfect for both predator and prey sightings. After a rewarding day in the park, return to your lodge for a peaceful dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Mikumi to Dar es Salaam

Once in Dar es Salaam, you will have some free time to shop for souvenirs, visit local attractions, or relax at your hotel or the beach.
